Our aims

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) reports limited evidence of services proactively engaging with the LGBTQ+ people or specifically considering their needs.

Our Pride in Care Team aims to help organisations improve their quality of care and support for older lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer+ people, while challenging any poor practice they may encounter in health and social care provision.

The Pride in Care quality standard is attained through a short, step-by-step accreditation process. Our team of specialist LGBTQ+ quality advisors offer:

  • Policy reviews
  • Staff survey
  • Internal training
  • Ongoing consultancy advice

Why undergo Pride in Care assessment?

Attainment of this UK-registered award gives your organisation full use of Pride in Care branding, raising your equalities profile and demonstrating your commitment to deliver high-quality inclusive, safe and supportive services to older LGBTQ+ people.

We also provide access to a wide range of free and discounted services for health and social care professionals. For more information, check out our Pride in Care brochure.

Due to the coronavirus, we understand that many organisations working with older service users are currently overwhelmed. Opening Doors London is still working with clients that are undergoing assessment and we are happy to discuss your organisation's needs at this time and in future.

For more information about the Pride in Care quality standard and a confidential conversation about pricing, process and time-frame, please email [email protected].

What do our clients say?

At the end of every assessment, we ask our clients to provide feedback on their experience. Here at ODL, we value all feedback as it informs our future work and ensures we are continually improving our training services to make the best impact.
